Attadale is excited to have achieved accreditation by Wildlife Estates Scotland, which is the national version of the EU Wildlife Estates (WE) initiative, and is endorsed by the European Commission’s Directorate-General Environment.  Their objective is to protect, preserve and improve the environment for present and future generations.  Recently celebrating its 10th birthday, Scotland currently sits second in the league table of Wildlife Estates accredited land on 1.25 million acres, with only Spain ahead on approximately 1.6 million acres.

At Attadale, this award recognises the continuing success of the red squirrel reintroduction through collaboration with Trees for Life.  In addition, there is the long-standing project of stocking Atlantic Salmon into the River Carron from tanks in the Attadale glen.  Both the Gardens and Holiday Cottages are Green Tourism certified.  Currently their forestry plan aims for the complete removal of all non-native forestry in favour of native reforestation.
